Packaging speeds up to 85 cycles/min.
Fully-automatic form/fill/seal machine for complete overwrapping of products without film overlap. Products of randomly varying lengths can be packed consecutively with speeds up to 85 packs per minute.

Products are fed in via an infeed conveyor and at the same time are wrapped in a centre-folded film by means of a forming shoe. Product indexing is achieved light barriers. The infeed conveyor is easily adjustable to varying product widths. After wrapping of the product in film the cross seal is made with a permanently heated sealing system. The longitudinal sealing is done by a continuously working side-seal unit. The vertical setting of the forming shoe and the sealing unit is manually adjustable. The remaining film scrap is stored on a film rest take up winder. Width of cross seal bar: 450 mm. Programmable logic controller (PLC): SIEMENS S7.

Optional: wheel/knife -combination (patent pending - 10224360.3) for fully closed sealing seams when processing multilayer, eradiated (electronically cross linked) co-polymere films.

Large-format products - Capable speeds up to 65 packs per minute, integrated product data memory

The UNIVERSA 700 is the side sealer tailored for shrink wrapping picture frames, bank and bond paper, laminar doors, furniture parts and other large-format products.

The machine parameters are easily adjusted and an integrated product data memory, capable of storing information on up to 250 different products, enables machine information such as conveyor speed, sealing temperature, and cycle time to be automatically down-loaded to the machine.

The infeed conveyor is easily adjustable to varying product widths. After wrapping of the product in film the cross seal is made with a permanently heated sealing system. The Universa 1000 is the side sealer for picture-frames, paper of large format, multiple doors, parts of furniture and other products with a large format. The machine parameters are easy adjustable. Information on up to 250 different packs, each with up to 250 different parameters, can be stored in the integrated Product Data Memory where the information is held for recall motor-driven film transport for a safe and warp-free film unwinding.

The remaining film scrap is stored on a film rest take up winder. Length of the cross seal bar: 1050 mm.

Fully-Automatic, Continuous-Motion Side-Sealer

The new UNIVERSA 500 SERVO is a hybrid that closes the gap between intermittent-motion and continuous-motion machines of today. It is the first time that a single machine can offer combined advantages from both machine types. One example is the film transport with vacuum belt that creates an even drag across the whole width of the film to form accurately dimensioned square bags. This delivers perfect packs that meet the most demanding requirements: high-impact retail packaging for software boxes, CD or DVD cases, praline boxes, books, magazines, and other high-value products.

An ingenious motion control system - that has SIEMENS® SIMOTION® and servo drives for all product relevant mechanism allow packaging with continuous product flow. The smooth product transport through the machine minimises slippages of stacked products and problems with slightly unstable collations of products.The UNIVERSA 500 SERVO is equipped with the uncomplicated product infeed from our highly successful UNIVERSA 400. Randomly spaced products of different lengths can be wrapped. The integration of the machine into a production line is straightforward. The UNIVERSA 500 SERVO incorporates also the features of the UNIVERSA 400 that provide an almost effortless product changeover with only a few adjustments

The innovative combination of advanced servo-technology with a high class PC-based industrial control system by ELAU (PacDriveTM) has strongly influenced developments in control technology in this field. The decentralized and expandable system structure of the controller manages all programmable logic controller (PLC) functions as well as all movements in the machine with extreme precision and reliability. In conjunction with servo drive systems, this perfected PC-based technology provides highest flexibility for fast, smooth and high-quality wrapping of products. The max. capacity is approx. 80 cycles/min.

Product in-feed is made by a transport conveyor with wrapping at the same time into centre folded film by means of a forming shoe. The exact product arrangement is made by a circulating lug infeed. After wrapping the product into film the longitudinal sealing is achieved by a continuous side-sealing unit. Cross-sealing is made by a permanently heated sealing system.
