Hughes Enterprises and DeltaPaper introduce PaperNuts®. Papernuts are the most environmentally responsible and customer-friendly material that can be used to fill the empty space in boxes. With PaperNuts your product stays put in the center of the box and free from damage in shipment.

PaperNuts® are made from 100% recycled materials – old corrugated cartons (post consumer) and paper processing
production waste (post industrial). They are clean, safe, nonpolluting and low in particulates. Once discarded PaperNuts® will begin to return to the earth when they are exposed to water in the environment. They are biodegradable, non-toxic, reusable, and easily recyclable in existing waste streams.

PaperNuts® can compost with other organic matter. PaperNuts® contain no CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons) or HCFCs (hydro-chlorofluorocarbons.) Made from 100% recycled paper, this product is both biodegradable and fully recyclable after it is used.

PaperNuts® are safe for transport anywhere in the world on boat, truck, plane or train. Good for the earth, they reduce pollution.

Your customers will love them! PaperNuts® are a pleasant surprise for most people who open boxes. They won’t stick to your customer’s clothes and they are easily cleaned up if they spill from a package. Polystyrene loose fill cannot be used in some manufacturing facilities because of the contamination it can cause to industrial processes. PaperNuts® eliminates those concerns and are accepted everywhere.

Their unique formation causes them to Interlock. PaperNuts® are conveniently sized at approximately 1 1/4” x 3 1/4” and they nest together. The result is superior protection. The product resists compression.

That gives it good void fill capability and it minimizes damage from shock, vibration and product migration better than other loose fill materials.

PaperNuts® are static free. They will not cling to your product and are not associated with the damage that electrostatic discharge (ESD) can cause. PaperNuts® are tough enough to meet all of your cushioning needs. They provide reliable shock and vibration protection.

PaperNuts® offer many other performance benefits: Low dust, it expands rather than settles during shipment, and it all but eliminates product migration. We compression pack 4 ft3 of PaperNuts into a 3 ft3 carton. Agitate them when you open the box and they will return to their original volume. This saves packaging, shipping space, and money.

In larger quantities,(10,000 cubic feet or more), we can print your marketing or environmental message on the the material.

PaperNuts® are not very tasty. Starch loose fill attracts rodents and pests who may damage boxes and contaminate the product shipped in them. Unlike corn starch products, PaperNuts® will remain stable and dry to the touch when they are exposed to warm weather and the moisture in the air.
